Use this page to connect your UNB Email to your Blackberry device. These instructions will work with phones and tablets running BlackBerry OS and BB10.

BlackBerry OS

Please follow these instructions very carefully.


  • Click Setup in your BlackBerry menu.

  • Select Email Account

  • Select Internet Mail Account.

  • Select Add an email account - if you already have another account set up, select Set up another email account.

  • Select Other for the type of account.

  • Enter your UNB Email address (loginID@unb.ca) in the Email Address field.
  • Enter x for the password.
  • Click Continue - you will see an error message.
  • Click I will provide the settings when you get the error.

  • Enter the following UNB email settings:

  • Select an email type: POP/IMAP (most common)
  • Email Address: your loginID@unb.ca
  • Password: Your UNB password
  • Email Server: outlook.office365.com
  • User Name: Your loginID@unb.ca


  • Click Continue.
  • Expand General Options and verify your UNB account information.
Email address: Your UNB loginID@unb.ca
Email account name: UNB Mail
Your Name: Your Name
  • Scroll down and expand Login Information and reenter your UNB password in the password field.
  • Scroll down and click on 'Advanced Options and verify the following information:
Email Server: outlook.office365.com
Email server type: IMAP
Use SSL: Yes
  • Click Save.


BlackBerry 10

  • Access Settings.
  • Choose Accounts.
  • Scroll down and choose Advanced'.
  • Select 'Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync from the list of options.
  • Fill in the following information:
Description: UNB Email
Domain: live.unb.ca
Username: loginID@unb.ca
Email Address: loginID@unb.ca
Password: your UNB password
Server Address: outlook.office365.com
Port: 993
Use SSL: on
Use VPN: off
  • Set up the sync intervals to suit your needs and click Next.
  • Choose what you want to sync and click Done.


Troubleshooting

If you haven't run initial software updates for your phone yet, you will not be able to add an Exchange account. Make sure you are connected to the network -- myUNB WiFi: Blackberry -- and search for BB software updates before trying again.
